Previous Research Work

DAQ (Data Acquisition) ( until FY2009)

“Data collection E technologies take charge of putting information from approximately ten million sensor groups (for the case of ATLAS experiments) in order, and recording them in computers. Network technologies play a significant active role in the connection of the sensor groups with computers; however, as specific performance is required, various technology developments are also needed. Mechanisms for effectively controlling many devices connected with a network are an important key. We have been constructing a new framework for data collection by a network in collaboration with robotic technology researchers (Figure 6).

Figure 6. In ATLAS experiments the number of sensors which read out data is approximately ten million. To read out data from numerous sensors and quickly reconstruct the total picture of elementary particle reactions, research work for making the best use of network technologies etc. has been advanced.
